As your outgoing President, I can thoroughly recommend serving on the AALL executive. Executive members are deeply committed to representing and supporting their colleagues. The executive team plays a vital role in increasing professional communication, collaboration, research, publications and development opportunities for us all.
Executive members meet regularly, coordinating efforts so that the association can flourish. I have also found this contact personally rewarding. It has also helped me forge precious new friendships, expand my own networks, acquire knowledge and grow professionally.
We need executive members with all kinds of interests and skills – no previous experience on the AALL executive is required. All that is needed is a dedication to helping ALL colleagues and to furthering the mission and goals of the association. Executive roles are voluntary, with executive members serving two year terms.
We would warmly invite you to nominate yourselves and other AALL members as state or territory representatives for November 2021 to November 2023. Make a difference to academic language and learning in Australia. Be part of this team. Nominate now.
Siri Barrett-Lennard, AALL President (2020-2021)
