Towards benchmarking : An Information Gathering Project

Announcement

Learning Development at the University of Wollongong will be sending invitations to Aall unit/centres in Australia to participate in the Aall funded project titled Towards Benchmarking for Improvement. The invitations are being addressed to the Head of each unit/centre and will be sent by email in the forthcoming week.

Should the Head of your unit/centre not receive an invitation please email Joanne Dearlove on dearlove@uow.edu.au and she will rectify the situation.

Background :

This project aims to undertake some of the initial ‘leg work’ that will enable AALL as a professional body to meaningfully benchmark the diverse range of practices currently employed by AALL units to support their students' development of academic literacies and learning. It hopes to provide sufficient information on the practices of Aall units to allow each individual unit to identify its own appropriate benchmarking partner/s and to initiate their own individual benchmarking exercises. The project operates from the perspective that benchmarking is a collaborative process which provides the opportunity for individual units to participate in a process of self improvement.
