UTS:Insearch is inviting applications from experienced curriculum designers/subject coordinators to develop and then coordinate an academic literacy subject in our new Diploma of Communication.
The immediate task will be to develop the curriculum materials by building on the accredited subject outline, revising existing curriculum materials, and liaising with the Diploma of Communication Subject Coordinators regarding the literacy demands of their subjects. Once the new diploma commences in June, the Subject Coordinator of the academic literacy subject will then become responsible for maintaining the curriculum materials, teaching the subject, mentoring and guiding other lecturers/tutors in the subject and advising other DipComm Subject Coordinators on ways of embedding academic literacy into their own subjects.
Candidates must have a post-graduate qualification in applied linguistics, TESOL or similar, and at least two years teaching experience in a culturally diverse environment. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience in developing curriculum materials, a commitment to innovative learning and teaching, and a background or interest in communication related issues.
Please direct enquiries and applications to chris.cook@insearch.edu.au by Tuesday 23 February.
